The Thirsty Pigeon口渴的鸽子
A PIGEON, oppressed by excessive thirst, saw a goblet of water painted on a signboard. Not supposing it to be only a picture, she flew towards it with a loud whir and unwittingly dashed against the signboard, jarring herself terribly. Having broken her wings by the blow, she fell to the ground, and was caught by one of the bystanders.
Zeal should not outrun discretion.
有只鸽子口渴得很难受，看见画板上画着一个水瓶，以为是真的。他立刻呼呼地猛飞过 去，不料一头碰撞在画板上，折断了翅膀，摔在地上，被人轻易地捉住了。
有些人想急于得到所需的东西，一时冲动，草率从事，就会身遭不幸。
The Goat and the Goatherd 山羊与牧羊人
A GOATHERD had sought to bring back a stray goat to his flock. He whistled and sounded his horn in vain; the straggler paid no attention to the summons. At last the Goatherd threw a stone, and breaking its horn, begged the Goat not to tell his master. The Goat replied, Why, you silly fellow, the horn will speak though I be silent.
Do not attempt to hide things which cannot be hid.
很多山羊被牧羊人赶到羊圈里。有一只山羊不知在吃什么好东西，单独落在后面。牧羊 人拿起一块石头扔了过去，正巧打断了山羊的一只角。牧羊人吓得请求山羊不要告诉主人， 山羊说：“即使我不说，又怎能隐瞒下去呢？我的角已断了，这是十分明显的事实。”
这故事说明，明显的罪状是无法隐瞒的。
二、小学英语故事乐园之十三 狮子和老虎
有一老虎被人们送到了非洲，狮子听说老虎是兽中之王，很不服气。
有一天，狮子去找老虎比赛，谁赢了只谁就是兽中之王。他们比五个项目，分别是打斗、爬树、奔跑、捕猎和游泳。第一项，打斗。狮子和老虎大战三百回合，最后狮子以微弱优势险赢老虎。第二项，爬树。老虎不会，狮子又赢了。第三项，奔跑。老虎虽然没有猎豹跑得快，但比狮子快多了。所以，老虎赢了。第四场，捕猎。狮子一般都是集体捕猎，老虎是独自捕猎，不用比都知道是老虎赢。第五项，游泳。两个都会。老虎先到了终点。过了一分钟，狮子也到了岸边，不过，遇到了鳄鱼。狮子打不过，老虎便来帮忙。老虎咬了一口鳄鱼的尾巴，使鳄鱼分心。狮子趁机咬住鳄鱼的喉咙，老虎也咬住鳄鱼的喉咙。结果，鳄鱼死了，狮虎饱餐了一顿。
从此，狮子和老虎成了最好的朋友，也不管哪个是兽中之王了。
三、求英语童话故事剧本
小红帽
第一场：Little Red Riding Hood家
Mum： (妈妈拿着一个篮子，把桌子上的水果放在篮子里）
Little Red Riding Hood唱着歌，欢快地跑进来）Hi,mummy, what are you doing?
Mum： （一边把水果放在篮子里，心事重重地说）Grandma is ill. Here are some apples and bananas for Grandma. Take them to Grandma.
Little Red Riding Hood：（边提起篮子，边点头说）Ok!
Mum： （亲切地看着Little Red Riding Hood说） Be good. Be careful.
Little Red Riding Hood： Yes ,mummy．Goodbye, mummy.
Mum： Bye-bye. Darling.
第二场：在路上
(一阵轻快的音乐由远而近，小红帽挎着篮子蹦跳跳地跳到花草旁)
小红帽： Wow！Flowers, how beautiful! （放下篮子采花）One flower ,two flowers, three flowers.
大灰狼：（随着一阵低沉的音乐，Wolf大步地走上台）I am wolf. I am hungry. (做找东西状,东张西望) Here is a little red riding hood. Hi! Little Red Riding Hood. Where are you going? (做狡猾的样子和Little Red Riding Hood打招呼) 字串6
小红帽：(手摸辫子，天真地回答)To Grandma’s．Grandma is ill.
大灰狼：（自言自语）I’ ll eat Grandma. But……（对着小红帽说）Hey, look! 6 little baby ducks.
小红帽和6只鸭子随着音乐翩翩起舞
大灰狼：（悄悄地藏到大树后）
小红帽：（停止跳舞）Hello! Baby ducks，how are you?
六只鸭子：We’ re fine．Thank you． Where are you going?
小红帽：To Grandma’s．Oh, I must go, bye.
六只鸭子：Goodbye．
